A company responsible for many milestones in computing.In 1886 the American Arithmometer Company was founded to manufacture and sell first commercially viable adding and listing machine, invented by William Seward Burroughs.It was renamed the Burroughs Adding Machine Company in 1905.In 1911 it introduced the first adding and subtracting machine.In 1923 Burroughs came out with a direct multiplication billing machine.
